‘Big Data’ for School Improvement: Identifying and Analysing Multiple Data Sources to Support Schools as Learning Communities

The project aims to explore educational ‘big data’ that can be used in schools to support teachers and school leaders in their roles as facilitators of student learning. Specific aims are :

  • Identify multiple sources of data (‘big data’) with the potential to improve student learning and make it available to school leaders and teachers in Hong Kong schools

  • Identify researchable issues from ‘big data’ and support ongoing research that may result in significant knowledge transfer initiatives

  • Support high quality research output based on research undertaken on ‘big data’

  • Provide research training for post-doctoral fellows working on the project and for PhD students attracted to the project
